Jim Verraros

Jim Verraros is an American singer/songwriter who was born in Mount Prospect, Illinois and raised in nearby Crystal Lake. In 2003, after placing in the top 10 of American Idol’s first season, he teamed up with producer and songwriter Gabe Lopez to record a demo album, titled Unsaid and Understood, which was then released through MP3.com. Although Unsaid and Understood is no longer available, Verraros re-released some of its songs on his official debut album, Rollercoaster.

Concurrent with his music career, Verraros starred in the gay comedy film series Eating Out. He also cameoed in Another Gay Movie (2006). Koch Records released Rollercoaster in 2005, while Verraros self-released his second album, Do Not Disturb, in 2011. Lopez continued to collaborate with Verraros on both albums.

In addition to his studio albums and his demo album, Verraros recorded a non-album song, “You Make It Better”, for the film Eating Out 2: Sloppy Seconds. He also released a handful of songs on his Myspace page. A few of his MySpace releases (e.g. “Can’t Love You Like That” and “Ordinary People”) can still be found on YouTube.

Verraros officially retired from music in 2011. He subsequently spent several years as vice president of a bridal expo company.
