Christian Isaiah Shaw (Born 1998), more often known as

Hi-c, Yung Hi-C, High Cee, or C-Boogie, is an American rapper and producer from Nashville, Tennessee. Hi-c’s music is a staple of Tread, a genre that has high tempo songs, synths, lots of off-beat and stuttering hi-hats and snares, all of which has become some of his signature producing marks. Frequent samples of game soundtracks and effects make Hi-c’s music easily recognizable.

He began music as a whole in 2011 when he was around 13, and most likely was influenced by his brothers who allowed him to record and produce. He went by the name Chris the Pharaoh, and his early works on the Motel Durban SoundCloud page are Odd Future reminiscent. In 2012, he began going by Crystvr and began posting music on his own SoundCloud page. With time, the music began to take more shape and definiton, and in 2015 one of his beats was selected for the song Boost Mobile by Kane Grocerys and Luckaleannn, which now sits at over one hundred thousand plays.

He founded the now inactive collective called Ca$hed Cohbruhz, spanning from mid 2015 to late 2016. During this time, the infamous (Cashed Cobras production little ho, eat my pussy) sample was born.

It was after this that he joined Reptilian Club Boyz with Diamondsonmydick. His name change once more to Hi-c (Or High Cee) in the middle of 2018.

In January 2021 he announced he would be stepping down from rapping, though this claim is likely faulty, as he’s been seen on social media recording music. It’s unclear whether he will return to making projects.
