Nina Nesbitt

Nina Nesbitt is a singer/songwriter born in Edinburgh, Scotland on July 11th of 1994.

Nina forced her way into the music industry at the age of 17 after she performed her song “Standing on One Leg” for pop sensation Ed Sheeran in 2011. After that Ed asked her to go on tour with him and she accepted.

Nina wanted to be an author, and eventually used this talent to write songs on piano and later, acoustic guitar.

At 16 she began performing in her hometown of Edinburgh, and created a YouTube channel where she posted a mixture of original songs and covers. Her interesting version of Example’s “Stay Awake” was heard by the U.K. rapper and he subsequently invited her to complete his U.K. tour with him. Nina was called by many the female counterpart of Ed however, Nina carved out her own identity with her feisty folk-pop EP The Apple Tree in 2012 after eventually signing with Universal, and a year later she released the U.K. Top 75 single “Stay Out.” In 2014, Nina released her full-length, debut album, Peroxide, which featured songs off her previous EPs as well as new material.

She released a 6th EP on February 5th of 2016 and named it “Modern Love” it’s single “Chewing Gum was released on January 11th.

In May 2016, Nina disclosed that she had left her record label and was an independent artist for a few months calling her own record label N2 Records

During April – September 2016 Nina asked her fans to help challenge her songwriting and producing skills by sending in examples of their life stories to her to be turned into songs and called it “Songs I Wrote For You” project. “Ontario”, “Brisbane”, “Los Angeles” and “Manchester” were released for free streaming on her Soundcloud account and Spotify as part of this project. On October 10th, 2016 she released the last and final song of the project; “Stockholm” on iTunes along with the other four songs as her 7th EP “Life In Colour”

In November 2016 she signed a record deal with indie label Cooking Vinyl.

Nina released her second album, “The Sun Will Come Up, The Seasons Will Change” on February 1, 2019. Nina released a deluxe edition of her second album entitled “The Sun Will Come Up, The Seasons Will Change & The Flowers Will Fall”. on November 22, 2019. This contained three bonus tracks and acoustic versions of the original album tracks.
